Photograph Response (Gottfried Helnwein) Part 2

Seeing the full scale image drastically changes my viewpoint because I thought it was artistic and photoshopped, but it is actually not photoshopped and is actually a documentary image. I no longer believe that it is symbolic, but it is actually just an image of men installing a large-scale image on a building.

In the image, the men are harnessed to an industrial looking building while completing installation of a large painted image of a girl. The men are very small compared to the girl. The girl looks stoic, mostly emotionless, and possibly lost within her own thoughts. The title "The Last Girl" could indicate that this is not the only picture of a girl to be displayed on the back of a building, but that this is the last one in a larger project.
